Initial Visit and Consultation

Upon your arrival for your initial visit, please say hello to our receptionists, Gina and Cheryl. They will assist you getting checked in on our computer and escort you to our consultation room.  On your first visit, our Treatment Coordinator will provide you with the latest information on the newest styles and concepts with braces today. We treat a wide variety of orthodontic problems including crowded, spaced, protruded, missing and impacted teeth, crossbites, overbites, and alignment of teeth for implants or bridgework. Early treatment is frequently recommended to prevent the unnecessary removal of permanent teeth, to correct overbites, to prevent injury to protruding teeth, and to eliminate damaging habits. All of your concerns about your teeth or your bite will be discussed with Dr. Miller and he will inform you of your available options for orthodontic care. A complete examination is done as well as a panoramic x-ray if needed. Dr. Miller will also consult with your general dentist regarding your case and a team approach will be developed to best suit your needs.

Diagnostic Records

These typically include a medical and dental history, a complete clinical examination, study models of the teeth, digital photos of the patient's face and teeth and x-rays. This will be used to further customize your treatment plan to best meet the goals of your orthodontic care. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.

Regular Appointments

The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders etc.) usually takes about one hour. You will then have visits at regular intervals 4 to 8 weeks apart for adjustments, which take 20 to 40 minutes. Recent improvements in the design and materials used in orthodontics have allowed patients to see improvements in their teeth much more rapidly and reduced the number of adjustments and appointments necessary to achieve our treatment goals. Our regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM by appointment. We are always available via our answering service to handle any type of orthodontic emergency you may have.
