I have now entered my 20th year in orthodontics and am very excited about the way technology is advancing my profession.  Our office in Scott Depot is fully equipped for every type of appointment, and we continue to use our House Calls program, which phones patients the night before a visit to remind and confirm their appointment.      The technology and equipment is great, but most of all, it enables us to be more efficient so we can spend more time on what's most important - providing the highest quality orthodontic care while developing lifelong relationships with our patients.      I have been blessed with the opportunity to help create over 5000 beautiful smiles. In today's world, a smile can bring happiness to many people, and I believe our team is making a difference in our community by improving our patients' self-esteem and helping them realize their potentials.       Let's make 2008 a great year and may we all measure our success in life by our service to others. History of Miller Orthodontics

The Miller family has been involved in dentistry since 1952 when Dr. John Miller opened his general dental office in Dunbar.  After 22 years of practice, he returned to WVU and obtained his specialty training in Orthodontics. Starting with an office on Seventh Avenue in South Charleston in 1974, he began his orthodontic practice.  As Teays Valley grew in population, Dr. John Miller recognized the need for a satellite office in this area. He was the first dental specialist to open an office here in 1978 in a small building on Route 34.  It began with 450 square feet of space and saw patients two days per month.  As the area became more populated, the practice grew, and when Dr. Craig Miller joined the practice in 1988, they began seeing patients full time in Teays Valley.

Miller Orthodontics has grown continually over the years as we work closely with area general dentists, pediatric specialists and oral surgeons to provide a team oriented approach to orthodontic care. We have also recognized that in today's educational environment, missed school time must be kept to a minimum. All area schools have been very cooperative with appointments but we wanted to have a way for our patients to be seen regularly with as little disruption as possible to their studies. Our original idea was for a mobile office to go to the schools but this proved an unavailable option. The next best idea was to put our office as close to the school as possible. We thus opened our Winfield Middle School office in 2000 to rave reviews!  Patients can now sign themselves out of class and walk over to our office, cutting their missed class time in half.  It also lifts a burden off of parents who must work and previously had to take time off to bring their child to his or her appointments.  Although we cannot be in both offices at the same time, we do spread our time so that we serve our patients with the least amount of inconvenience possible.  Both offices are fully equipped, and there is never a need to travel to another office for a given appointment. 

We are now known as "Your Orthodontist Next Door" and will continue to serve Putnam County and the surrounding area

with the highest standard of orthodontic care available.
